Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar @ Town & Country

04-04-10

I had made reservations to try out Fleming's Easter Brunch with my brother and Erica. I have been to Fleming's twice for their ribeye steak and it was delicious. Fleming's has a few location in Houston so I decided to pick somewhere in the middle between Erica and I and that was Town & Country center.
All of us ordered the fruit salad as the appetizer. The fruits were fresh and sweet and it came with a honey cream sauce. That sauce was perfect, I believe I was more after the sauce than the fruits. Next up were the entrees. I had ordered the Filet Benedict and it came with green beans and potatoes (more like potato cake). The filet was cooked perfectly to a medium and the Hollandaise sauce was good. The potatoes had too much pepper in it that I could not eat it. As for the green beans --- they were just green beans that was just steamed in water. It was a bit bland to me. Erica had ordered the Lump Crab, Asparagus, & Swiss Cheese Frittata and that also came with the green beans and potatoes. The Frittata was pretty good except that it was too salty. Plus you could barely taste the lump crab and asparagus. The potatoes and the green beans were cooked the same way I had it. As for my brother, he ordered the Beef Tenderloin & Vegetable Frittata. It was just about the same as Erica's --- salty. Finally, the dessert. We decided to just order three different desserts to try. We ordered the Cheesecake, Creme Brulee, and Walnut Turtle Pie. The desserts were delicious except the Walnut Turtle Pie. By itself, it is really sweet but it came with Fleming's homemade whipped cream and putting that on the pie was like heaven. I had almost forgotten about that whipped cream. I loved it when I had the Chocolate Lava Cake for my birthday. Yummy.

Overall meals, it was not what I had expected and the place was a bit too dark. The service was good yet I wish the meal was less salty and pepper-y.

Had some fruits left. Was not really sure if it was suppose to be a cow or a face.

Yes the bland green beans were turned into a face

  1. Even though it sounds like their food did not exceed your expectations, you were still able to have fun with it at the end. That last green bean rice face in itself, is priceless.
